Syncscribe ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Data Processing

The App uses on-device processing. Your audio, video, and text data are processed locally and are not uploaded to our servers:

• Speech-to-Text: Transcription is performed on your device using the Whisper model. Audio is never uploaded to any third-party server.
• Translation: Uses Apple's on-device translation (language packs must be downloaded). Text is processed locally and is not sent to external services.
• Video/Audio Files: Stored only in locations you choose. We cannot access, read, or upload your files.

2. Information We Collect

The App does not collect personally identifiable information. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, device identifiers, IP address, or usage data for analytics, marketing, or any other purpose.

If you use the URL download feature to import files from the web, the App only accesses the links you actively enter to fetch files. It does not track your browsing behavior or collect other network data.

3. System Permissions

The App may request the following system permissions, solely for core functionality:

• Microphone: For real-time speech transcription (if you enable this feature).
• Speech Recognition: For system-level speech recognition (if you choose to use Apple's engine).
• File Access: For importing audio/video files and exporting subtitles and videos. Only accesses files or folders you explicitly select.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in system settings. Revoking them will disable related features but will not affect other functionality.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. Transcription and translation are performed entirely on your device and do not rely on external APIs.

5. Data Storage

Your transcription results, edits, and exported files are stored only on your device or in locations you specify. We cannot access, store, or transmit any of your data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Policy Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in the App or on this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
